BEACHITOS, LAGUNA BEACH
This prefab modern duplex is the first BONE Structure residence built in Orange County. Drive along North Coast Highway in Laguna Beach and the residence, named Beachitos, sits along the highway and touches down to the beautiful winding Cliff Drive with views of the ocean, Catalina, and the northern and southern coastlines. Built with sustainability in mind, Beachitos contains solar and battery charging power, skylights, and large windows for abundant natural light. The intermix of stucco, wood, glass, and concrete creates a zen-like tableau for the coastal setting. This project was the winner of the 2020 American Institute of Architects OC People’s Choice Award.
